Summary
Balla collects the information needed to run the app, personalize training, provide progress tracking, support AI-assisted features, keep accounts secure, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Balla may collect account data such as your email address, Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In identifiers, and your Balla profile or account ID.
We may collect onboarding information you choose to provide, including your age range, position, football goals, available equipment, ability level, schedule, and training preferences.
We may collect training and progression data, including XP, completed sessions, drills, streaks, stats, player-card progress, and related app activity.
If you use AI video analysis features, Balla extracts image frames from user-selected training videos so they can be processed for football technique feedback.
If you use AI training generation features, Balla may process selected training setup information such as focus area, training mode, indoor/outdoor setting, duration, ball availability, equipment, player count, and excluded drill IDs.
We may collect app, device, and usage information such as app version, device type, operating system, crash logs, diagnostics, IP address, and feature usage where needed for security, troubleshooting, analytics, and improving reliability.
Camera, media, and notifications
Balla may request access to your camera, photos, videos, or device media library if you choose to upload clips for analysis. Balla may request permission to send notifications for account, training, reminder, or app feature updates. You can control these permissions in your device settings.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, personalize training, operate app features, provide AI feedback, respond to support requests, maintain security, improve reliability, and understand app usage through analytics where applicable.
Information related to Balla Pro entitlement status may be used to unlock subscription features. Subscription payments are handled through Apple In-App Purchase and Apple ID settings, not directly by Balla.
AI processing
Balla uses OpenAI for AI-assisted features. For AI video analysis, Balla sends extracted image frames from user-selected training videos to OpenAI for football technique feedback. These frames may include the user's body, face, surroundings, ball, or bystanders. For AI training generation, Balla sends selected training setup information such as focus area, mode, indoor/outdoor setting, duration, ball availability, equipment, player count, and excluded drill IDs.
Balla does not intentionally send your name, email address, Apple ID, or Google ID to OpenAI as part of these AI prompts. AI results and generation records may be stored under your authenticated Balla account in Supabase.
Third-party services
Balla may use third-party services to run the app, including Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services; Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In for account access; OpenAI for AI recommendations, training generation, and video analysis; Apple In-App Purchase for subscription payments; Superwall if subscriptions or paywalls are used; and analytics or attribution services if applicable.
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and security practices.
Third-party service providers that process user data for Balla are expected to protect that data with the same or equal level of protection described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable App Store guidelines.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Balla, when required by law, or when needed to protect the app, users, or others.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Balla, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and improve the service. When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely retain it where required for backups, security, or legal reasons.
Account deletion
You can request or delete your account in the Balla app by going to Settings -> Account -> Delete Account where available, or contact us for help. Account deletion may remove or anonymize account, profile, media, and training data, subject to legal, security, backup, and operational requirements.
Children and younger users
Balla is intended for users who can safely use a football training app with appropriate supervision where required. If you are a minor, use Balla only with permission from a parent or guardian. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child where parental consent is required and was not provided, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your personal information. You may also be able to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact us using the email below.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer Do Not Track signals. There is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, so Balla does not currently respond to them.
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as Balla changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
